This project provides for the reconstruction of Meredith Drive from 156th Street west to ¼ mile east of 170th Street as a four-lane roadway with left-turn lanes including grading, and storm sewer. The paving will be portland cement concrete with two 26-foot wide paving sections and a 28-foot grass median and a 10-foot trail on the north side. This is a joint project with the City of Clive. The project is anticipated to be completed in late spring of 2020.
Project Status Update - 11/15/19
Stage 1 is complete and open to traffic. Temporary single lanes closures will be required next spring for sidewalk/trail construction. Phase 2 is closed for construction from the west side of 162nd Street to 170th Street.
Next spring the contractor will be grading and constructing the sidewalks and trails in Phase 1 and 2.
The contractor is scheduled to complete the mainline concrete paving in Phase 2 next week. They also plan to work on paving the intersections. Turn lanes will not be completed until next spring. The asphalt overlay from 167th Street to 170th Street is also scheduled for next week on Wednesday. Traffic in this area will be limited during the asphalt work.
An official detour route is established on 156th Street, Douglas Parkway and 170th Street. The Police and Fire Departments have been notified of the closed areas.
